Ryanair shares fly on results

Travel and tourism shares enjoyed an exceptional session yesterday as London’s main equity indices moved ahead. While the benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 19.4 points to close at 4693.2, the broader-based FTSE 250 did much better, adding 41.7 points to end the day at 6402.9. By far the biggest mover was Ryanair, which put on 44.65p to close at 323.43p after releasing positive half-year results. Its rival EasyJet also did well, adding 11p and ending the session at 170.5p.
