Ryanair shares soar
There was a distinct downward trend for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices lost ground.
The FTSE 100 index dropped 26.9 points to close at 4910.4 – a seven week low, according to The Guardian – while the FTSE 250 fell sharply, losing 112.6 points to end the day at 7087.4.
The biggest winner of the session by a country mile – following on from another positive day on Tuesday – was Ryanair, which added 19.375p to close at 425p.
