Ryanair takes legal action against another unruly passenger
Low cost carrier Ryanair is taking another passenger, which is says disrupted a flight, to court in a civil case.
The airline confirmed that it has filed legal proceedings in Poland claiming over €3,000 in damages.
It alleges the passenger disrupted a flight from Berlin to Marrakesh on 9 January.
The passenger displayed ‘inexcusable behaviour forcing this flight to divert to Seville, where the aircraft landed,’ the lawsuit said.
“The passenger was offloaded causing 170 passengers and 6 crew to face unnecessary disruption.”
In addition, Ryanair imposed a five-year travel ban on the passenger and reported him to the Guardia Civil.
Ryanair says it maintains a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: “It is unacceptable that passengers are suffering unnecessary disruption as a result of one unruly passenger’s behaviour. We have now filed to recover these costs from this passenger”.
