SAA in new links with Air Seychelles
South African Airways and Air Seychelles have expanded their codeshare to cover the island of Praslin in the Seychelles and four new destinations in South Africa: Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London.
SAA’s country manager for Australasia Tim Clyde-Smith, said "this new initiative will bring more direct air links and travel options from Australasia and South Africa to this important tourist location".
SAA will place its ‘SA’ code on six Air Seychelles flights per week between Mahe and Praslin while Air Seychelles will place its ‘HM’ code on 18 SAA flights per week between Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, and five SAA flights per week between Johannesburg and East London.
"SAA has started implementing our long-term turnaround strategy, named Gaining Altitude, which includes broadening our network through alliances and strategic partnerships," said Clyde-Smith.
"In subsequent phases of our partnership, we will seek to cooperate on more of SAA’s non-stop flights in Africa and other destinations and to cooperate through our respective frequent flyer programmes."
