Sabre helps agents to switch sell
Sabre Travel Network is introducing a new tool for agents in Europe that it says will help with switch selling. The product, called Sabre Relationship Insight, allows agents to access the same passenger information they have always been able to access, but it presents it in a more useful format. In addition the new tool means the information can be searched by specific criteria, such as looking up the current itinerary and previous travel patterns of a specific passenger, or looking up a specific airline to see if targets have been met. A spokesman for Sabre told TravelMole: “You can see how many customers are flying with which airlines, so you can assess how well you are doing with your targets. This means if targets have been met with one airline and not with another, agents can switch sell if they want to. “It differs from other CRM systems because it allows you to plan forwards rather than just looking backwards.” Relationship Insight also allows agents to access detailed information about past and future car and hotel bookings, and locate customers en route. The spokesman added: “The restrictions on the use of passenger data that have always been in place continue to be in place.” The product has been trialled in US and Latin America, and rolled out in the UK this week. It will be introduced as part of the core Sabre package across the rest of Europe over the next month. Sabre Travel Network European vice president of marketing and customer services, Stuart Nassos, said the tool is the first of a series of value-add products that we will be launching soon.
