Sabre streams travel info to mobile phones
Sabre is to provide real-time access to travel itineraries to mobile phones and other web-enabled portable devices.
Features include flight notification, destination, restaurant and city guide information to 19 European countries and access to a currency converter.
The service extends the company’s Virtually There website features to mobile devices.
Senior vice-president Martin Cowley said: “With the Virtually There tools accessible via mobile devices, travel agents are able to make their customers’ trips as stress-free as possible.
“These latest technology enhancements make it even easier for agents to keep travellers up to date and in touch with the latest travel information, helping to build customer loyalty.”
Destination information is available on: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland, Turkey and the UK.
