Sabre sues Hawaiian Airlines over GDS fee
Sabre Corp is taking legal action against Hawaiian Airlines for imposing a GDS fee for travel agency bookings
Sabre claims the airline is in breach of contract.
It is also suing as Hawaiian is withholding inter- island flights and fares from the GDS.
It filed the suit in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York:
Sabre seeks unspecified damages.
Hawaiian’s distribution policy changed on May 31, 2022.
It puts Sabre at a competitive disadvantage, the suit says.
US travel agencies can only access Hawaiian’s inter-island fares through third-parties known as ‘HA Connect Approved Partners.’
The volume of Hawaiian bookings through the GDS has sharply fallen.
“We believe Sabre’s claims to be baseless and we are acting well within our contractual rights as we implement a new distribution strategy, “the airline said.

Why is Travelport not suing Lufthansa? They also charge a GDS surcharge.
