Sabre unveils car rental loyalty scheme
A UK loyalty programme for car bookings has been created for agents using the Sabre GDS.
Agencies connected to the system will be able to accumulate Sabre AutoRewards for John Lewis goods when making car bookings through the GDS.
Europcar is the launch partner although the programme will apply to all car rental companies and for all rates of hire. Bookings made with Europcar this month will receive double AutoRewards points.
Agencies can register with the programme online through Sabre Travel Network’s internet-based Agency e-Services customer support facility. Depending on the car group booked, agents will earn points that can be redeemed for John Lewis products.
A series of nationwide road shows with participating vendors will take place later in the year.
Hamish Broom, GDS’s director of airline, hotel and car distribution EMEA, said the initiative – Sabre’s first UK loyalty programme – was designed to show travel agents how quick, easy and cost effective it is to book car hire in the GDS.
Europcar UK head of rental sales Paul Broughton added: “Reward programmes such as these are an important part of business today, and I am confident that this one will be an outstanding success.”
