SABSLeisure agents get video content

Travel agency technology supplier Micros-Travel is to offer its clients the ability to show customers videos of their planned holidays.

The company has teamed up with rich content provider Trailstream to allow agents who use its SABSLeisure platform to tap into this more visual selling tool.

Micros-Travel managing director Brian Sheerin said: “We have seen firsthand the difference compelling content makes at the point of sale and the fact that we’re the first technology company to integrate underlines our commitment to the further development of SABSLeisure.”

Trailstream managaing director Dave Howard says retail agents on the high street have been slow to embrace the use of rich media such as videos, trailing behind online travel agents who have been using it to great effect for some time.

He said: “Video is seen as a valuable asset by many online travel providers but up until now the retail environment have been slow to recognise the benefit video brings to the sales process.

"A large number of travel agents are beginning to realise that they need to provide their customers with an in-store experience that is better than that encountered at home. Today’s consumer has access to a huge resource of rich media content on-line through their home pc and agents must meet their customer’s expectations when they set foot in a high street agency.”
