Saga Cruises makes Board appointment
Saga Cruises has appointed Richard Vogel to the Board as a non-executive director.
He previously worked for AIDA Cruises, a German cruise business which was taken over by Carnival in 2003, and was also CEO and chairman of TUI Cruises.
Robin Shaw, chief executive of Saga Cruises, said: "This is a really exciting time for Saga Cruises as we embark on our first ever new build cruise ship.
"I am therefore absolutely delighted that we have been able to strengthen our Board with the appointment of Richard Vogel.
"Richard’s experience in having managed the development of new ships will provide invaluable insight, perspective and challenge to the Board. His appointment enhances the excellent team we have built."
Saga’s new ship is due to be delivered in summer 2019.
It will carry less than 1,000 passengers and will ‘retain the intimacy and personal touch for which Saga is renowned’.
All cabins will have outside balconies.
