Thomas Cook’s sales and marketing director has left the travel firm to ‘pursue other opportunities’.
In a statement Thomas Cook said that chief marketing officer Remo Masala, who joined six months ago from Kuoni, will now take direct responsibility for marketing in the UK.
It confirmed that UK sales, marketing and ecommerce director Mike Hoban had left.
Hoban was part of Peter Fankhauser’s new Thomas Cook management team announced in December 2012, after joining Thomas Cook in October 2012 from confused.com.
Yesterday the tour operator announced UK managing director Reto Wilhelm was returning to Switzerland for personal reasons after just six months in the role.
Wilhelm will resume control of the group’s East/West region, the position he held before he was transferred to the UK.
His departure sees chief operating officer Peter Fankhauser take overall responsibility for the UK, supported by Salman Syed, who has been appointed UK managing director of commercialisation.
Syed joined Thomas Cook in December from electronics firm Premier Farnell, where Thomas Cook CEO Harriet Green was chief executive.
