Gordon McCreadie has left Cosmos to join Travel 2 as sales director February 4.
He is replaced at Cosmos Holidays by Damian McDonough, who moves from Holiday Taxis, where he was head of new business, on February 1.
Reporting into Travel 2 managing director Andy Freeth, former Cosmos head of trade sales McCreadie will be responsible for the strategic development of the long haul operator’s sales function, including building key business relationships and driving sales.
McDonough, who re-joins Cosmos where he worked as national sales manager in 2003, takes the newly-created role which includes responsibility for the operator’s mainstream programme for short and long haul as well as sister brands somewhere2stay and Avro.
McCreadie is leaving Cosmos to take up a position closer to his home town of Glasgow.
McDonough reports to managing director mainstream Stuart Jackson, who said: “With Gordon’s departure we are taking this opportunity to restructure the sales division.
“We are sorry to see Gordon go but understand his reasons to work closer to home. I’d like to thank him for his outstanding contribution to the business and wish him every success in his future career.
“I am delighted that Damian McDonough is returning to Cosmos.
“As a dedicated trade brand we are committed to maintaining and further developing our relationship with our retail partners and giving it the focus it deserves.
“Damian has a wealth of expertise in this area and will be key in forging relationships going forward both in the traditional retail sector comprising the vertically integrated and independent agents and consortia as well as the online and dynamic packaging environment.
McCreadie has held positions including head of sales for Club Travel 2000.
Travel 2 managing director Andy Freeth said: “Gordon is an inspirational leader with a proven track record of driving sales for big travel brands and we are very much looking forward to seeing him deliver in 2010.
“This is a massive boost to our popular sales team and we’re very excited about the future this opens up for Travel 2. This appointment continues to underline our trade-dedicated tour operator credentials in the market.”
