Samoa tsunami to be case study at Tides 2010
APIA – In the aftermath of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated parts of the Samoan Islands, the TIDES travel conference 2009 has been postponed until February 2010.
Proposed new dates are February 10-13 2010.
In the interim the Pacific Asia Travel Association will work with the Samoa Tourism Authority and other related agencies to review the current needs and aid the recovery strategy.
It is planned to table the findings of a Samoa task force report for discussion at the TIDES event in 2010.
Confirmed registrations for TIDES 2009, due to be held November 25-28, will be valid for the re-scheduled event.
