Sam’s Club Travel launches mobile app
Membership warehouse club Sam’s Club has announced the launch of the Sam’s Club Travel mobile app, offering members-only deals on hotels, rental cars, vacation home rental.
It claims to be the first major retailer offering members a dedicated mobile app exclusively for leisure and business travel products.
"Sam’s club members now have access to simplified travel search and lightning-fast booking capabilities through a dedicated app right on their iOS or Android devices," said Jamie Iannone, CEO of SamsClub.com.
"Our app combines massive travel inventory and weekly deals to help members save time and money — whether they’re planning a business trip or well-deserved vacation."
The app, available on iOS and Android platforms, lets customers filter searches on price, star rating, distance from current location and TripAdvisor ranking.
There is a same day or next day last minute ‘deals’ function displaying products at up to 60% off he normal retail price, and inventory features 40,000 hotels and 10,000 activities in more than 4,500 cities.
"Our mission as a membership club is to provide legendary member service and stay relevant to our member wherever and whenever they shop," Iannone said.
A division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Sam’s Club Travel launched earlier this year in partnership with Orlando based Tourico Holidays, a leading travel brokerage company supplying products to 4,900 clients across 100 countries.
