Samui marathon attracts international field

Saturday, 06 Sep, 2012 0

About 30,000 runners will head to Thailand’s Samui island for the annual marathon race on September 23, hosted by Bangkok Airways.

This year there are six categories and registration remains open until September 21.

Race categories are: the full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.1 km), quarter marathon (10.55 km), student marathon (5 km) and fun run (2 km).

The event was established to help the island attract visitors during the rainy season. This year the airline expects a record turnout of runners.

Bangkok Airways promotes the event domestically and internationally as well as through running clubs in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia.

Registration details and accommodation options are on the same booking page at www.goadventureasia.com/SIM/sim.htm.
