Sandals goes back to its roots with Bob Marley inspired campaign

Sandals Resorts International is leveraging the global impact of reggae icon Bob Marley for its latest ad campaign.

The company has teamed up with the Marley family for the ‘No Worry’ worldwide campaign which will feature a recording of the Marley classic ‘Three Little Birds’ by grandson Skip Marley.

Sandals Resorts’ ads will be aired somewhere in the world every five seconds according to CEO Adam Stewart.

"We know that people come here have the time of their lives, and we really sat back and we felt we really wanted to bring together these two iconic relationships," Stewart said.

Chairman of Sandals Resorts, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart said: "For me, this is one big great honor to be aligned to the Bob Marley family. It’s time now to go back to our Jamaican roots and the flavor of the marketing and advertising. Thanks to Skip Marley for responding so quickly and putting out this great, beautiful commercial."

The Sandals brand was born in 1981 with its first resort in Montego Bay, the same year Bob Marley died.

"I was in Cuba and I met the minister of tourism some years ago and he said to me, ‘You know, Mr Stewart, there are three names in the Caribbean – Fidel Castro, Bob Marley, and Sandals Resorts’," said Stewart senior.
