Santa Fe ARTfeast Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of the nation’s premier art markets and noted winter art destinations, is celebrating the 10th anniversary for ARTfeast in February 2007. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and blessed with more than 300 days of sunshine, Santa Fe is the perfect winter travel destination for collectors and connoisseurs interested in four-days of fine art, fine wine and fine food. ARTsmart, a 501c3 non-profit association established by individual members of the Santa Fe Gallery Association, is hosting a long weekend of art and culinary activities February 22 – February 25, 2007.
“Each year, Santa Fe attracts record crowds for this special city-wide celebration of cutting edge art exhibits, gourmet dining, wine tasting and the art of home tour,” said Mary Harbour, president of ARTsmart and one of the main organizers for the 2007 events. “The growing number of local, national and international artists featured at the more than 200 galleries in Santa Fe continues to attract major buyers and collectors of contemporary and modern art from around the world.”
As part of the special 10th anniversary ARTfeast festivities, internationally acclaimed Santa Fe, sculptor and blacksmith, Tom Joyce will be honored at the gourmet dinner, on Saturday February 24. Winner of the MacArthur genius grant, Joyce creates abstract and functional art from recycled pieces of scrap metal.
Visitors can also sample an array of wines from the world’s classic wine growing regions and participate in a number of other culinary activities.
