Sas and Bentours hosts cocktails for Perth agents
Scandinavian Airlines and Bentours invited their top agents in Western Australia to the cocktail party held on the Gotheborg where about 80 guests turned up for a drink and a special showing of the vessel.
René Kristensen, BDM for Bentours, said that “sales in Western Australia were up almost 20% compared to the same time last year which shows a great increase in the interest in Scandinavia and we are confident the trend will continue”.
SAS has contributed to the project by providing crew members with a special training program in maritime command at the SAS Flight Academy and it is the recommended airline for project members to connect with the ship on its ports of call around the world.
“In many ways SAS is today’s East Indiaman, but while the journey used to take a year today we fly from Gothenburg to Shanghai in 13 hours.” said Scandinavian Airlines’ General Manager Australia & New Zealand Lars Sandahl Sorensen.
After 41 days at sea since leaving Cape Town, Götheborg will rest in Fremantle for 12 days. It then sails to Jakarta, Hong Kong and mainland China, arriving in Shanghai late August 2006.
Back row: Irmgard Goetjes-Pedersen SAS, Rene Kristensen Bentours, Lars Sandahl Sorensen Sas Australia and Hans Dyhrfort from SAS Regional Office in Bangkok.
Front row: Marissa Owen and Danielle Kelly from Best Flights in Perth, Captain Kallin, Monika Neczaj and Kelley Dicker also from Best Flights in Perth.
