Scarlet Lady’s New York City showcase event cancelled
Virgin Voyages’ big preview event unveiling its first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, to the American public has been cancelled.
A presentation of the ship in New York has been axed ‘in light of current global headlines’ Virgin said.
It was due to spend several days in New York City this week for travel professionals and the media to get a sneak peek before its inaugural season out of Miami.
Scarlet Lady has spent the past days being presented to the travel trade and media, including TravelMole, in the UK ports of Dover and Liverpool.

"As we have been making our way across the Atlantic Ocean, we have been keeping a watchful eye on the news. In light of current global headlines, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming Showcase Tour pit stop in New York City," the line said.
"We have absolutely no health concerns or issues onboard."
The adult-only cruise line begins sailing on March 26 out of PortMiami.
Scarlet Lady is the first of four planned cruise ships for Virgin.
