Schoolies up to 20,000
Youth accommodation specialist Schoolies.com has recorded a major milestone with the booking of its 20,000th guest for 2007, flagging one of the biggest years on record for the company.
Schoolies.com general manager Andrew Growcott said the lucky 20,000th Schoolie – Newcastle student Samantha Nicolle – would receive her accommodation for free and also receive complimentary tickets to Dreamworld and White Water World for herself and 10 friends.
“Schoolies.com has been the number one accommodation provider for event for 18 years now and it has been amazing to see it evolve into such a significant youth festival,’’ Mr Growcott said.
“Each year, Schoolies are getting in earlier and earlier to secure the best rooms and locations.
“We are very excited to be welcoming our 20,000th Schoolie for the year already in what shapes as another fantastic celebration from 17 November to 9 December.’’
With the new school year underway, the class of 2007 is wasting no time getting their end of year holidays sorted through schoolies.com, with bookings up 12% on the corresponding period last year.
The online booking service has responded to the demand bringing a host of new properties on line in the Schoolies’ favourite destinations.
Mr Growcott said the record level of interest was due to a combination of factors including the positive vibe surrounding the event and the appealing aspect of exclusive safety measures being built into every schoolies.com booking.
The cancellation of Schoolies cruises by P&O had also contributed to increased bookings through schoolies.com as students and parents seek out the safest and best-value holiday options available.
With more than 100 hotels and resorts in its program, only Schoolies.com offers exclusive safety measures such as security guards on all buildings, special Schoolies photo ID cards and a 24 hour helpline for both Schoolies and parents.
Schoolies.com offers Schoolies escapes to destinations including the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Airlie Beach, Magnetic Island, Great Keppel Island, Cairns, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour and Lorne and has even spread its wings to Queenstown, NZ.
