SEA LIFE Melbourne announces new interactive exhibit
SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium has unveiled its latest interactive attraction – Rocky Shores.
This is a fully reimagined Rockpool zone that highlights the ever-shifting coastal ecosystems of Victoria.
Rocky Shores is a hands-on sensory adventure, allowing guests to discover Victoria’s tidal surges and its diverse marine habitat
The many coastal creatures include sea cucumbers, spider crabs, hermit crabs, elephant snails, and a wide array of sea stars.
An octopus will also join the display during the school holidays, along with additional species to be revealed.
The new zone encourages everyone to explore these ecosystems and in a first for the aquarium, a bespoke section of the new rockpool has been designed for wheelchair users.
Claire Burrell, General Manager, SEA LIFE Melbourne, said, “Rocky Shores has been carefully designed to showcase the beauty and resilience of our coastal ecosystems and bring guests closer than ever before to the magic of the ocean.”
The $2 million exhibit takes guests into the heart of rockpool life.
SEA LIFE Melbourne has again partnered with the Agriculture Victoria to educate guests how to identify and report marine pests.
