SeaWorld Orlando announces new surf coaster

Sunday, 19 Oct, 2022 0

SeaWorld Orlando unveiled its newest upcoming ride, ‘Pipeline’, a first-of-its-kind surf coaster

It opens in the spring of 2023.

The unique design elements are the surfing launch and ‘wave jumping’ motions that riders will experience.

The surfboard-shaped ride vehicle will give riders an immersive experience.

They will be secured on the roller coaster in a surfing position and will be launched at top speeds, feeling as if they are catching a wave.

“We are always looking for exciting ways to take thrills to a new level. This first-of-its-kind roller coaster will be the perfect addition,” said Kyle Miller, SeaWorld Orlando Park President.

Each rider will get the rush of cutting through waves as they race up to heights of 110-feet in the air.

‘Pipeline’ will send riders reaching max speeds of 60-miles-per-hour, with five different airtime moments with the ride lasting 1 minute and 50 seconds.

Pipeline will be the seventh coaster at SeaWorld Orlando.

It joins coasters including Mako, and Ice Breaker.
