SeaWorld unveils new rollercoasters
SeaWorld has unveiled three new thrill rides for next year as its move away from promoting live animal attractions following a public backlash.
Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando will be the park’s first ‘launch coaster’ when it opens in spring 2020.
Busch Gardens will debut the wooden roller coaster, Iron Gwazi, also next year.
Meanwhile SeaWorld San Antonio will have the ‘Texas Stingray’, which will be the tallest, fastest and longest wooden roller coaster in the state of Texas.
Scheduled to open in spring 2020, it will reach speeds of 55 mph, boasts a 100-feet drop and a 100-feet long tunnel.
SeaWorld says the ride will also offer educational value too.
"There are stingrays down there. We want people to be aware of them and learn about the stingray shuffle," said SeaWorld’s Chuck Cureau. "It’s a fully encompassing experience where people ride the ride as they see the exhibits and it adds to the over awareness of animals."
