Security lapse at Atlanta as ticketless 11-year old almost gets on flight
Atlanta airport security officials are probing how an 11-year old traveling alone and without a ticket managed to get as far the boarding gate undetected.
The young boy traveled to the airport alone by bus, made it through security screening without a ticket and was only stopped when trying to sneak on a flight.
TSA spokesperson Sari Koshetz told Channel 2 News the boy wasn’t required to show ID at security because he is a minor and was not a security threat because he had been screened at the checkpoint.
However the agency wouldn’t comment on how he got through without a required boarding pass.
The boy tried to blend in with a family boarding a flight but was caught out and made a run for it.
He was soon apprehended by airport security officers.
