Segway: new electric transport machine for sightseeing
If you’re walking, you can get around San Francisco with less steps now. You can ride a Segway.
The San Francisco Electric Tour Company says it has become the first and only company to offer Segway service in the city.
Tourism officials say offering Segways is a trend coming to other cities as well.
“A city as unique as San Francisco demands a one-of-a-kind way to tour it,” explained founder Brian Huber. “Segway’s are an incredibly innovative way to appreciate Fisherman’s Wharf and the waterfront. They’re fun, they’re safe, and ideal for families looking for new touring experiences.”
First introduced in 2003, the Segway is an electric transport machine that is guided by the rider’s motions to go forward or backward.
Individual or guided tours are available.
