Serbia steps up campaign to encourage tourists
The Serbian government is handing out tourist guides to travellers entering the country as part of a new campaign to encourage tourists.
The 260-page Welcome to Serbia guide contains detailed information and photographs of attractions. This includes detailed information on Belgrade and its cafe-lined pedestrian boulevard Kneza Mihaila.
Available in Serbian, English and German, it is being handed out at the Batrovci border crossing between Croatia and Serbia and the Horgos and Kelebija crossings with Hungary.
Around 2 million visitors enter Serbia via the three border crossings every year. Some 300,000 copies of the guide will be distributed to visitors, who will also be offered a tourist map of Corridor 10, the 600-mile highway running through the centre of the country.
