Severe weather warning for US-bound passengers
Storms battering the northeast coast of America have caused flight delays and cancellations today and further disruption is expected tomorrow as the storms continue to rage.
British Airways has cancelled some flights to New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Newark today and passengers on affected services have been told not to go to the airport.
United and Continental airlines are offering passengers the option of rescheduling their flights to the northeast of America after warning that the bad weather is likely to lead to delays or cancellations of their services to Washington Dulles International Airport and Newark.
The two airlines said passengers due to fly on January 26 and 27 may reschedule their itinerary with a one-time date or time change free of charge. If a flight has been cancelled, a refund may be requested.
Delta is also giving passenger booked to travel to any one of 15 US cities over the next 48 hours the option to delay their flights up to and including January 29 without incurring additional fees
