Shangri-La catches MICE
The Shangri-La hotel chain has introduced on-line rates for meeting planners in their newly released package of initiatives, called Signature Events and aimed at securing business in the lucrative meetings market.
One of the initiatives, known as “Super Value Dates”, allows meeting planners access to extremely competitive rates at shoulder and low seasons on rooms in its range of 49 properties in the APAC region.
By linking into www.shangri-la.com, planners can now find the best available room rates and if lead times are up to three months and room purchase is 10 rooms or more, the discount can be up to 50% off the published rack rate.
Their dedicated booking engine also allows attendees to book their rooms directly via a designated group code and anything that eliminates the need for organisers to handle room lists and reservations has to be a good thing.
Shangri-La Marketing chief, Martin F Waechter appreciates the intricacies of the MICE industry announcing the package said, “We have simplified and streamlined the event organising process to provide a hassle-free experience for the organisers, at highly competitive rates”.
There’s not a planner around who doesn’t like “hassle free”.
