Hospitality group Shangri-La has signed an agreement to bring the first Hotel Jen to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The high rise 200-room Hotel Jen Kuala Lumpur is slated for a 2019 opening and will be sited centrally, close to the landmark Petronas Towers.

Planned amenities include a restaurant and lounge, a rooftop bar, swimming pool and meeting rooms.

"The announcement of Hotel Jen Kuala Lumpur reinforces our interest and expansion in Malaysia, in the country’s capital city, where we will now increase the group’s presence with our third hotel and newest brand Hotel Jen," said Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La.

Hotel Jen is Shangri-La’s newest lifestyle brand concept following the ongoing rebranding of the group’s Traders Hotel portfolio throughout Asia.

The group also announced the signing of the Hotel Jen Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia last year.

"The opening of Hotel Jen Kuala Lumpur will strengthen the brand’s footprint in yet another key city in Asia, where the richness and diversity of business, leisure and culture in Malaysia aligns with Hotel Jen’s brand persona of being a ‘lover of life, travel and discovery’," said Lothar Nessmann, chief operations officer for Hotel Jen,
