Shearings announces three new senior positions
Shearings has made three new senior appointments to further expand its holidays and hotels businesses.
The company said the new roles had been created to strengthen its sales and marketing functions and to increase support for agents.
Emily Bates (below) has been appointed as marketing director for Shearings Holidays to oversee the marketing and ecommerce strategy. She previously held senior marketing positions at Thomas Cook, My Travel and Butlins.
Shearings Hotels has appointed Douglas Whittaker as sales and marketing director, with responsibility for the company’s portfolio of 50 Bay and Coast&Country hotels. Whittaker has previous experience with Malmaison Hotels in Prague and Louvre Hotels.
Jo Allen (pictured below) has been appointed as national sales manager for the Southern England region, an area of increasing strategic importance for the business. Working directly with agents, Allen’s role is to drive sales in the south and to raise awareness of the growing Shearings product portfolio, with a focus on air, rail and cruise holidays.
The appointments follow the appointment last year of Ruth Connor as managing director of Shearings Holidays.
