Shearings commercial director Alan Maclean is moving to Cosmos as part of senior management changes.

He joins on January 5 as managing director of specialist businesses, including Cosmos Coach Tours, Distant Dreams and its Finnish Lapland programme.

Meanwhile, product and commercial director and somewhere2stay boss Stuart Jackson has been promoted to the newly created position of managing director of mainstream products.

Both will report to Peter Brown, group chief executive of the Monarch Travel Group.

The appointments come in the wake of Paul Joliffe stepping down as Cosmos managing director.

Maclean’s roles prior to Shearings include senior positions at Sunworld, Thomas Cook, and Saga Holidays.

Brown said: “With Paul Jolliffe stepping down from his role as managing director we wanted to take the opportunity to split the role into two in order to give greater focus to each business unit and their separate brands.

“We are delighted that Alan has agreed to join the group bringing both escorted touring and long haul/mainstream experience to his new role.

“We are also delighted that Stuart has further expanded his responsibilities within the group.”
