The  Sheraton Fiji Resort is nearing the completion of an extensive Fj$34 million refurbishment that will set new standards in family and conference resort choices in Fiji.  With just four weeks left to go on the renovation, the resort is on schedule to meet its 1 November 2008 re-opening date.

Commencing in May this year, the refurbishment has encompassed all areas of the resort from the impressive lobby, spacious guest rooms, restaurants and bars, to the introduction of a new lagoon pool, recreational facilities and the Tagimoucia Events Centre, creating a stunning new look for one of Fiji’s favourite resorts.

“This is an exciting time for the Sheraton team, with the resort 100% on schedule for a 1 November opening, after a very successful refurbishment project managed by Herberts Construction, that will position the Sheraton Fiji Resort as a leader in family, conference and incentive markets.” said Shane Cunning, Managing Director of Sheraton and Westin Resorts Denarau Island, Fiji.

“The centrepiece of the new look resort will be the 1,200 square metre lagoon style swimming pool, which is divided into three sections, including a dedicated ‘family friendly’ area and special ‘quiet zone’.  This spectacular new pool concept developed by Scape Design Associates, will also feature a number of underwater hammocks and day beds, a first in Fiji that provides guests with an inviting place to relax and watch the day go by.” Mr Cunning continued “The resort will also launch some exciting new Sheraton dining concepts including Feast, a tapestry of bright décor and culinary delights from around the world, Flying Fish seafood restaurant and Pantry – a grab and go style deli, as well as introducing a fresh look for Fiji’s leading fine dining restaurant, Ports O’ Call.”

Beautifully furnished in harmony with the idyllic South Pacific setting, the revitalised guest rooms, designed by Joseph Pang Design Consultants, reflect the essence of Pacific style with the finest modern amenities.  Designed with comfort in mind, each room will feature the Sheraton ‘Ahhh’ Sweet Sleeper bed, high speed connectivity and innovative lighting.  From inside to outside, the rooms extend beyond the four walls as they open onto a private balcony or patio, luring the charms of Fiji into the room.

Guests are invited to experience the expansive selection of restaurants and bars available at the new look Sheraton Fiji Resort.  The restaurants concepts have been created by renowned restaurant designers Dreamtime Australia Design and include Feast – a vibrant new buffet restaurant concept featuring tantalising dishes from around the world.  Flying Fish, offering a superb choice of fresh seafood dishes with spectacular water views.   Continuing its reputation as the best fine dining restaurant in Fiji, Ports O’ Call will return to the resort with a stunning fresh look.  Pantry will offer all the convenience of a gourmet deli in a ‘Grab & Go’ style offering and Chime, the resorts new lounge bar is the perfect place to relax with a tropical cocktail.
