Silversea announces on sale date for new Silver Origin
Silversea will open bookings for Galapagos cruises onboard its new100-guest ship Silver Origin on July 16.
The cruise line says the all-suite ship will be ‘the most elegant’ in the region when she embarks on her maiden voyage next July.
Each of the butler-serviced suites on Silver Origin has a private veranda or balcony and comes with 24-hour room service and in-suite dining.
The eight suite categories include one Owner’s Suite that wraps around the ship’s rear section on Deck 6, one Grand Suite and one Royal Suite, which are connecting suites that may be combined for family and friends travelling together. There are also two Silver Suites, each of which can be connected to an adjacent Classic Veranada Suite to accommodate groups.
A first for Silversea, the Owner’s, Grand, and Royal suites offer an ocean-view whirlpool bath and separate shower, accessible from the veranda (except in the Grand Suite). The Silver Suites’ whirlpool bath and separate shower provide exterior views and can be accessed from the veranda.
The remaining four suite categories include one Medallion Suite, seven Deluxe Veranda Suites, and sixteen Superior Veranda Suites located on Deck 6. There are also 22 Classic Veranda Suites.
The cruise line is promising regionally-inspired cuisine onboard, informative lectures and other enhancements. Its Galapagos cruises are currently onboard Silversea Galapagos, which is being retired.
The new ‘ultra-luxury’ Silversea Origin will alternate two seven-night itineraries between Baltra and San Cristobal.
The ship will be fitted with a fleet of eight Zodiac crafts – the largest in the region on a per-guest basis – and kayaks.
In 2020, two special extended voyages are planned for Christmas and New Year: an : an 11-day voyage from San Cristobal to Baltra departing on December 19 and a 12-day New Year’s cruise departing from Baltra on December 29.
