Silversea Cruises has tapped leading hotel group Plateno to spread the word about its cruise products to a broader audience in China.

Plateno will provide access to sales and marketing activities for Silversea among its 3,700 hotels in China and 80 million loyalty members.

The hotelier has already begun expanding beyond China’s borders into Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa.

‘We have long identified China as a key source market and destination for the development of the Silversea brand, and we are proud to be able to partner with the team at Plateno as we embark on this next stage of growth in the region,’ said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, executive chairman, Silversea.

Plateno will promote and sell Silversea cruises and will help refine the brand’s image within Asia.

"In our quest to become the world’s leading hotel group, we are always looking for new opportunities to bring value and new experiences to our guests," said Zheng Nanyan, chief brand architect and founder of Plateno.

Silversea said it will continue to work with and honour existing agreements with travel agents in the region.
