Details of the first world cruise by Silversea Cruises’ new ship Silver Spirit have been released as part of the earliest full year programme launch by the luxury line.

The 540-passenger vessel will run a 119-day voyage from Los Angeles to Southampton in 2011 taking in French Polynesia, Australia, Asia, Egypt, Italy, Monaco, Spain and Portugal.

The trip is part of the luxury line’s 2011 schedule covering 170 itineraries, visiting over 335 ports in more than 100 countries and islands.

Thirteen cruises, including three around the British Isles, will depart or arrive at a UK port.

The 2011 programme features seven new destinations: Brindisi, Italy; San Sebastian on the Canary Island of La Gomera; Ballycastle, Northern Ireland; St. Helier, Jersey; Matarani, Peru; Cooktown in Queensland, Australia; and South Australia’s Port Lincoln.

A free flight and transfer initiative has been expanded and is now available from seven UK airports: Heathrow, Manchester, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Jersey.

Reservations will open for expedition ship Prince Albert II in the next few weeks.

Chief operating officer Ken Watson said: “It’s always our goal to provide unique and enriching travel experiences at the best possible value.

“Our 2011 schedule and pricing has been carefully designed to offer a broad range of travel choices and to reward guests who book earlier.”

2011 highlights:

Silver Cloud
The 296-passenger ship starts the year with a series of Caribbean voyages and two crossings of the Panama Canal before spending a month in the Mediterranean. Autumn in the Mediterranean precedes a return to Caribbean waters and the Amazon.

Mediterranean destinations, including the Holy Land and a Black Sea cruise, run in spring and summer, followed by two more cruises to the Holy Land and a return to Arabian ports and the Seychelles.

Silver Shadow
The 382-passenger ships opens the year in New Zealand fjords and a debut 30-day circumnavigation of Australia, followed by the Far East. Summer will be in Alaska before a return to China, Japan and Vietnam.

Silver Whisper

The 382-passenger ship starts 2011 in South America before sailing to the Caribbean and Northern Europe. Itineraries include three days in St. Petersburg, Norwegian fjord cruising, and autumn season in Canada and New England. The year concludes with Caribbean and South America voyages.
