Singapore agency suspended for employing illegal tour guide
Singapore Tourism Board has suspended another travel agency for using an unlicensed tour guide on a tour.
TG Tours will have its license suspended for two months.
That means the agency cannot accept any new business until July 14 but it has an obligation to service all existing bookings.
The unlicensed guide was uncovered by a STB enforcement officer during the tour in 2014.
A warrant was issued against the guide but he has left Singapore, STB’s director of travel agents and tourist guides Ong Ling Lee told the Straits Times.
"STB is committed to upholding the integrity of the travel agent and tourist guide legislation, and safeguarding the reputation of Singapore’s tourism sector," the STB said.
