Singapore Airlines: network adjustments for the 2026 northern summer season
Singapore Airlines (SIA) will adjust flight frequencies and boost passenger capacity on selected routes across its global network, supporting demand for travel during the 2026 Northern Summer operating season (29 March 2026 to 24 October 2026).
From 29 March 2026, SIA will operate an additional daily service between Singapore and Bangkok, bringing the total to seven daily services to Thailand’s capital.
Services between Singapore and Yangon, Myanmar, will increase to 10 times weekly from 31 March 2026, up from the current seven-times weekly operations.
Flight services between Singapore and Surabaya, Indonesia will increase to 21 times weekly from 29 March 2026, up from the current 19-times weekly operations.
SIA will operate 10 weekly services between Singapore and Colombo, Sri Lanka from 29 March to 30 April 2026. From 1 May 2026, this will increase to twice daily (14 weekly services), up from 10-times weekly services.
From 29 March to 31 May 2026, SIA will also operate a four-times weekly supplementary service on the Singapore-Taipei route. This will bring the total number of services to Taipei to 18 times weekly.
SIA to launch flights to Riyadh
In the Middle East, the biggest news is the arrival of Singapore Airlines in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 2, 2026. Flights will take place four times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The carrier will operate the medium-haul variant of its Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which is configured with 303 seats in two cabin classes: 40 in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class.
Responding also to strong demand for premium cabins on the Singapore-Dubai route, SIA will deploy the Airbus A380 for the first time on this service throughout the 2026 Northern Summer operating season.
In Europe, from 1 July to 3 September 2026, SIA will delink its three-times weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona services. During this period, the carrier will operate as a five-times weekly direct service between Singapore and Barcelona, Spain, up from the current twice-weekly service.
Mr Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines continually reviews our route network to align capacity with customer demand. These adjustments provide customers with more travel options and improved connectivity across key markets, particularly during peak seasonal periods. We look forward to welcoming customers on board our flights, and delivering SIA’s world-class service.”
Joint business partnership confirmed with Malaysia Airlines
In another development, both Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) confirmed the formalization of their joint business partnership, following the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia’s (CAAM) approval in January 2026, and the approval by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore in July 2025.
The approvals enable MAB and SIA to begin work progressively on deepening their commercial partnership, enhancing connectivity and offering greater flexibility for customers traveling between Malaysia and Singapore. Potential initiatives include revenue sharing flights between the two countries, joint fare products, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel arrangements across both markets. The carriers will communicate further details as they are rolled out.
