Singapore, Australia discussing air travel bubble
Singapore’s foreign ministry confirmed there are talks taking place with Australia about establishing an air travel bubble. It would allow residents of Singapore and Australia to travel between the countries without the need to quarantine.
They are discussing ‘the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and resumption of travel with priority for students and business travellers,’ Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Travel for leisure purposes is also under discussion. Talks are still in the early stages.
Singapore said it is still hopeful of establishing an air travel bubble with Hong Kong. A previous agreement was postponed at the last minute in late 2020 after a new cluster of Covid cases in Hong Kong.
