Singapore Tourism Board inks partnership with ride-hailing service Grab
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and ride-hailing firm Grab have teamed up to enable more visitors to go cashless.
A three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed which will look at transport preferences for visitors and also spending habits.
Grab and the STB will exchange travel data based around average fares and waiting times to help improve the trip planning process.
Grab will also be a preferred transport provider for STB’s MICE travel partners.
"With Grab’s extensive presence in the Southeast Asian region, which contributes a very large share of our visitors, we are confident of reaching a sizable audience through the multi-faceted touch points offered through the Grab app," said STB’s chief technology officer Quek Choon Yang.
"The insights gained will help both Grab and STB to tailor offerings that are more relevant and enhance the overall visitor experience."
The ride-hailing firm’s e-wallet Grabpay will be expanded beyond rides and will be rolled out at numerous retail outlets enabling customers to pay with Grabpay for hawker food, entertainment and general shopping.
