Sir Stelios sells easyJet shares
EasyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his family members have further reduced their stake in the budget airline after selling 1.27% of their shareholding for an estimated £81 million.
EasyGroup Holdings, Sir Stelios’ investment vehicle, confirmed yesterday that the joint shareholding of the Haji-Ioannou family in easyJet had been cut to 35.68%.
The Haji-ioannou family shareholding now stands at 141,608,049 ordinary shares out of a total of 396,819,107.
In January last year Sir Stelios and his siblings cashed in 200,000 shares in protest at easyJet’s plans to renew its fleet and in July 2013 their shareholding stood at 144,142,836.
