Six men questioned in hunt for missing British backpacker
Police investigating the disappearance of a British backpacker in Cambodia are questioning six men, some of whom worked at bars on the party island of Koh Rong where Amelia Bambridge was last seen.
Nearly 200 soldiers and police have been looking for 21-year-old Ms Bambridge since she failed to check out of her hostel last Wednesday.
The local governor said he thought it was most likely she had drowned.
She set off on her trip on September 27, visiting Vietnam before travelling to the Nest Beach Club on Koh Rong.
On the night she disappeared, she had gone with friends she had met at the hostel to Police Beach.
Her bag – containing her purse, credit cards and phone – was discovered on the beach and her passport was found at the hostel.
Major general Chuon Narin, police chief of Preah Sihanouk province, said divers, police, navy personnel, local volunteers and foreigners were helping to look for her.
"I can’t say whether Bambridge was killed or got lost in the island’s jungle."
