Ski resort on alert for ‘yeti’
A ski resort is on alert after a skier claimed to have spotted a ‘strange animal’ roaming the slopes.
Officials from Formigal in the Spanish Pyrenees have combed the slopes, but so far found nothing.
The skier captured video footage of the large, white, furry creature and posted it on Twitter, sparking a debate about what it could be.
While some claimed it was confirmation of the existence of the yeti, others said it was just a man in a big white suit.
The owners of the resort, Aramon, told reporters they had searched the area where the video was captured but have found nothing matching its description. A spokesman said: "We have spoken to the witnesses of the sighting to identify the area in which it took place and after combing the area we have found nothing.
"We believe therefore that there is no cause for alarm and that visitors’ security is guaranteed.
"In any case we will remain alert."
