Ski resorts ready for the rush
Niseko’s four interconnected ski resorts in Japan, including Hanazono, the last to open, will be ready for skiers and boarders this weekend.
All the resort’s bars, restaurants, ski schools, ski hires, coffee shops and noodle houses are reopening for what promises to another busy season at Niseko, on the island of Hokkaido.
Snow wholesalers such as SkiJapan.com have completed the training of ski season staff and are ready to host what is predicted to be a record winter with snow enthusiasts returning in larger numbers than any previous year.
Marcus Williams, managing director of SkiJapan.com said: “We have had a 15% increase in customers this season compared with the same time in 2010, and about 80% increase compared with this time last year.”
