Skyteam receives statement of objections from European Commission
KLM, Air France and other SkyTeam member airlines have been issued with a statement of objections from the European Commission’s competition authority.
SkyTeam members, excluding Aeroflot, said they are putting together a response and aim to reply to the objections in the autumn after careful examination.
The Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition has been reviewing the SkyTeam alliance since it launched in 2000.
Its inquiry, which originally focused on Aeromexico, Air France, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air, was extended when Continental, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Northwest Airlines joined the alliance in September 2004.
