SLH offers luxury travelers more options
As discerning travelers continue to seek out the unique and exciting, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has once again answered the call with the addition of more than 70 spectacular properties in 2007. The luxury hotel brand now boasts over 400 independently-owned hotels in more than 65 countries, each offering an infinite variety of unique experiences.
2007 represents a year of many firsts for Small Luxury Hotels of the World – both in terms of new market penetration and the variety of experiences that the different hotels offer. While Europe remains the strongest area of development for Small Luxury Hotels of the World with the addition of 38 hotels (15 of which are in Italy and Spain), Eastern Europe has seen the addition of the brand’s first hotel in Croatia (Hotel Riva) and the first in the Estonian capital of Tallinn (Hotel Telegraaf ). In Asia, the SLH brand has a presence for the first time in both Hong Kong and the Philippines; while new properties in Oman and Dubai mark the brand’s first foray into the Middle East. Hotels in destinations such as Argentina (Correntoso Lake Hotel) and Peru (Inkaterra Machu Picchu) have added to the diversity of the brand as it stretches into South America.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s key focus remains its commitment to providing guests with a range of experiences which is reflected in the variety of hotels added to its portfolio this year. Whether it is enjoying the luxury of your own private island complete with a fully-crewed 86ft yacht at The Rania Experience in the Maldives, or paragliding onto the spectacular beach of a secluded fishing village now home to Evason Hideaway & Six Senses Spa at Zighy Bay in Oman, options for new discovery abound. From the private mountainside refuge of Inkaterra Machu Picchu set amidst the lush Andean cloud forest in Peru to the baroque interiors of Prague’s Patchuv Palace, heritage, culture, nature, adventure and most of all unfettered luxury, await guests at every turn.
The expansion of experiences is not confined to just exotic and remote locations. A number of key additions have been made in strategic city centres which will allow business travellers and city enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the heart of a city without sacrificing quality and superb service. Whether it’s Residenza del Moro, which occupies the main floor of a lavish 16th-century palace in the heart of Florence, Stockholm’s Victory Hotel, the former home of Swedish nobility, or the soon-to-open Levin in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge, SLH provides a one stop shop for a variety of guests’ travel needs. Further a field, major business hubs like Bangkok, Hong Kong and Dubai have seen the addition of Lebua State Tower, Lanson Place and Desert Palm, respectively.
