Small aircraft expected in the future
Smaller and more efficient aircraft are the wave of the future, according to an industry forecast by Embraer presented at the Regional Airline Association spring meeting in St. Louis.
“Over the next 20 years, some 8,450 regional aircraft in the 30-120-seat range will be needed,” according to a report in ATWOnline.com.
Embraer officials said the financial losses by mainline carriers have pushed the trend towards smaller, more efficient aircraft.
