Snow shuts down airports again
Heavy snow has again shut down operations at multiple airports.
Bristol airport said all flights are grounded until at least 07:30 and all travelers are urged to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
“Further announcements will be made once information is available,” the airport said.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning for snow and ice in the area,
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is also closed and is not expected to open until at least 10:00 due to snow clearing and anti-icing work.
“Snow is currently affecting the airport. There may be some flight delays so please check with your airline directly and allow plenty of travel time. Safety is our uppermost priority so thank you for your patience,” the airport posted in a social media update.
At nearby Manchester airport, the runways were closed yet again but snow clearing began early at 02:00 am and it was reopened by 05:00 am.
“Our runways are now open, but as a result of the earlier closure, some departures and arrivals may still experience delays.”
