Soccer star Becks signs to Las Vegas Sands
Las Vegas Sands Corp has signed up David Beckham to promote its dining and retail businesses in Asia.
The former international and LA Galaxy soccer star has been brought in by LVS to "give its brand a boost" in the region, according to Bloomberg.
His business venture, Beckham Ventures, will create new dining, retail and leisure concepts at the Sands resorts in Macau and Singapore.
Earlier this year, Beckham became a global ambassador for Chinese soccer and the China Football Association invited him to promote the game among the youth.
LVS president and chief operating officer Michael Leven said: "We are very excited about the partnership and we fully expect it to grow in the years to come, especially as we aggressively explore opportunities to further expand our presence in Asia."
Beckham added: "The Sands team has created amazing resorts in Singapore and Macau.
"I am very excited to be working with them to develop a range of new business ideas in a part of the world that I love spending time in and is full of optimism and growth."
Beckham, who is reportedly worth $47m, set up Beckham Ventures after retiring from international football this year.
