Sochi hotel rates rocket for Winter Olympics
Hotel prices in the Russian ski resort of Sochi have rocketed 121% for the Winter Olympic Games.
Price comparison said Trivago said visitors will have to be prepared to pay around £148 a night during the Games, but prices could be even higher.
They peak on the second weekend of the event, on Friday and Saturday February 14 and 15, when visitors will typically have to pay £163 a night, compared to just £67 during the last week of January, said Trivago.
Prices are most affordable during the opening ceremony on February 7 (averaging £136) and for the closing ceremony on February 23, when they come down to £125.
