Solo’s Holidays brought a niche expeditions operator into a new division.
Baobab Expeditions is the first brand to operate within the new Fabulous Experience Company arm.
It runs luxury expeditions to Africa, North America, Latin America, Antarctica, Asia, Galapagos and Arctic.
The Fabulous Experience Company is designed to offer experiential holidays to selected destinations.
Offering safari, wildlife conservation, nature, ski and board, Baobab Expeditions is the official travel partner for wildlife conservation organisations including the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund International, The Africa Foundation, and Save the Rhino International.
The operator was established in 2005 by Richard Pfaeffli and was recently awarded “Best Adventure Travel Company 2009” by National Geographic Magazine.
Baobab Expeditions has relocated to the Solo’s Holidays office in Edgware, London.
Solo’s Holidays managing director Andrew Williams said: “Baobab Expeditions will continue to operate under its’ own brand, but the development signals our intention for sustainable growth.
“This comes at a time when our business is already performing above expectations and our revenue figures above the current industry norm.
“We believe there will be cross-selling of the product to our high-end regular travellers, providing even greater choice of experiences”
